A Travellerspoint blog

Clearwater to Jasper

We set off early and stopped in a rest area for breakfast. It was a lovely place to stop right beside the massive North Thompson river, with wild lupins, butterflies and some unusual small birds with reddish crests and breasts (will have to google them sometime to add to our wildlife list) Then the long journey to Mount Robson Park and visitor centre with the mountain towering above us!! Mount Robson is the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. Soon afterwards we crossed the border from British Columbia into Alberta and had to put our watches 1 hour forward to ‘mountain time’, so we are now 7 hours behind UK time.
Our journey today has taken us through some lovely scenery, first following the North Thompson river for miles and miles and then the great views towards Mount Robson. We are now in the Rockies, staying near Jasper for 3 nights, we have our very own red squirrel in the tree next to us!! – no internet at the moment so will add this blog later.
