Lake Louise to Spruce Grove Resort

We have travelled back into British Columbia today for one night, though we are still on ‘Mountain Time’, so 7 hours behind the UK. The campsite is lovely with an open pitch ‘site’ as they call them here!! We have been sitting out in the sunshine since we got here and it’s been very hot (hurray!!!!). We had planned to visit the hot pools at ‘Fairmont Hot Springs’ which is next door to where we are, but we are SO weary that we decided to just chill in the sunshine today.
Our journey here was great – we left Lake Louise early and stopped for breakfast in a lovely layby with a great view of ‘Storm Mountain’ A bit later on we stopped at a place of interest called the ‘ochre trail and paint pots’. We followed a bright rusty-orange trail to a place where they used to mine the ochre pigment used in paint. The colours were really unusual and we then reached the ‘paint pots’ which were 3 round pools (2 of them being bright green in colour) surrounded by the orange path!!
We then continued and found ourselves in our first ‘bear-jam’!! This is like a traffic jam but made up of vehicles which are stopped because they want to photograph a bear on, or near the road. The Black Bear was quite small and looked quite cute!! The man in front of us got out of his car and must have got a great picture, but we had been warned not to so we took pics from the RV and though not great, they are the nearest we have been to a bear. We sped on after the photos only to see another Black Bear quite near at the tree-line, but we were then going too fast to stop. We have been VERY lucky to see 4 Black Bears now, when lots of tourists come here and never see one!!!
Tomorrow we travel back to the Rockies to spend 3 nights in Banff.

We saw one Bear at Sequoia Nat Park so I know a bit how special that feels seeing them in their natural serounding, amazing that you saw so many.
Not sure about you guys but we got very tire driving around in our RV. I don't even drive and was surprised how tired I felt most of the time. You want to see as much as you can being on holiday :). Good that your staying at one place the next 3 days hope the connection will be okay there. xxx
